1. The Sinclair, Autograph Collection in Texas

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Sinclair Oil Holdings 1929 iconic building in Ft. Worth Texas is now home to The Sinclair, a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel. Opened in January 2020 this 164-room hotel boasts magnificent historic features well preserved over the past 90 years. Built to serve as Sinclair Oil Holdings headquarters the building was occupied as an office building until the time of the renovation.

The interior design draws on Ft. Worth swagger yet is elevated for a luxurious modern experience. Drawing inspiration from the glamour of the Art Deco period the material palette includes rich walnut, velvet, sleek marbles, and rich gold metals. Cowhide and leather are juxtaposed against the elegant finish palette and create a distinctly Ft. Worth experience. Art provides a surprising twist in the elegant property showcasing pop-culture icons and iconic Texas characters in cartoons. Guestrooms provide a modern, sleek aesthetic with Italian made casegoods, marble and polished stainless steel vanities, and wood flooring.

2. Lotte New York Palace

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

This project includes the interior transformation of four luxury suites. The four suites are stacked atop two corners of the building, capturing wrap-around views of Manhattan and northward to Central Park. The four suites within this scope are part of a larger suite collection at the hotel and were designed to evoke a classically inspired New York apartment, “it’s like your own personal townhouse in the sky.”

To meet the challenge of working with such vast spaces, and to make it feel more intimate and inviting, the design team integrated libraries and private lounges into the bedroom areas, custom-designed rugs throughout the suites, and carefully arranged seating throughout to create smaller destinations within each penthouse. The seating can be easily rearranged to accommodate larger, socially distanced gatherings. By underscoring a residential spirit, the design captures the feeling of a classic New York City pied-à-terre with bespoke art collections and unparalleled views.

3. The Fairmont Washington, D.C.

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Drawing inspiration from the geometry of an aerial view of Washington DC, ForrestPerkins served as architect and interior designer to transform the lobby, lounge, and outdoor courtyard at the Fairmont Washington, D.C. The theme is woven throughout the new space and is reflected in a geometrically abstracted map of DC behind the front desk, as well as the dramatic undulating chandelier. Comprised of 4,500 individually suspended shapes of mixed metals, the geometric elements create a play of shadows on the original limestone columns that pay homage to the city’s Neoclassical architecture. Sculptural hand-tufted rugs depicting the city grid and Potomac river unify the space.

4. Tulsa Club Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Once the social and business epicenter for the city’s elite and influential oil money, this project takes inspiration from the Men’s Social Club itself in its rebirth as a luxury lifestyle hotel. Built in 1927 in the Art Deco architectural style, this new hotel honors its history while creating a modern experience rooted in sophisticated style and premiere hospitality offerings.

The success of the three-year design and construction process attest to the cohesive vision of the developers, the design team, the brand and the operator.  Accolades began pouring in as soon as the hotel opened, with highest ratings for all categories.

5. The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Texas

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

This national historic landmark was completely renovated by ForrestPerkins to celebrate the style of a bygone era incorporating the modern conveniences today’s travelers require. In the 1950’s legendary Interior Designer, Dorothy Draper designed an elegant china pattern for the hotel in a striking parrot green, edged with gold. Inspired by this, ForrestPerkins wove these bold signature colors through the public spaces and guestrooms.

6. Read House in Tennessee

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Designing the interiors of the Read House to convey the essence of a glamorous 1920’s era while interpreting the story of a mysterious tycoon and his lavish, slightly dangerous, and always alluring lifestyle was a memorable experience.

The hotel has wonderful existing interior architectural elements and embellishments, particularly in the Lobby, the Promenade, the Green Room, and the Silver Ballroom, now dressed in new finishes as a stage for the events and experiences that each guest has when they visit or stay in the hotel. Likewise, the spaces we created such as the Lobby Lounge, the Billiard Room, and Bridgeman’s Chop House have distinct personalities and energy, created with traditional millwork but extravagant finishes and opulent decoration. Every space exudes glamor and feels as if Jay Gatsby himself could appear at any moment.

7. The Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C.

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

ForrestPerkins transformed The Jefferson Washington, D.C. into a jewel after working on the historic hotel for three years as the Architect of Record and Interior Designer. The 99-room Beaux Arts hotel, four blocks from the White House, is the first in the nation’s capital to be selected for membership in Relais & Chateaux. Whether stopping by for lunch or dinner or treating yourself for your entire visit, The Jefferson is filled with delightful design ideas. 8. Columbia Place Dual Branded Hotel in Washington, D.C.

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Columbia Place is a story of duality. This single hotel operates under two flags that harmoniously coexist in an architectural shell that incorporates several historic rowhouses into a new-build architectural shell, serving to enhance the duality narrative. Natural juxtapositions in design and amenities lend themselves to an interior palette of contrasting design elements. A pairing of organic and geometric shapes emerges as a design thread that can be found throughout the space.

9. The Westin Dallas Downtown in Texas

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Opened in 2015, ForrestPerkins reimagined the iconic One Main Place historic office tower, working with the owner KFK Group to program and masterplan this mixed-use development project. Forrest Perkins transformed the building made up of offices and retail as the Interior Designer and Architect of Record for the Westin Dallas Downtown on the top 10 floors of the 33-story tower. The hotel has transformed the Dallas city skyline and offers a unique luxury hotel experience in downtown Dallas.

10. The Nines in Oregon

ForrestPerkins: The Best of Hospitality Projects in The USA

Recently named by CNN among “20 of America’s most beautiful hotels,” the Nines expresses an individual, eclectic style. ForrestPerkins originally designed the hotel in 2008, and Boutique Design named it Best Hotel of the Year 2009. The unique, whimsical, effortless charm of the hotel has been enhanced by the recently completed renovation, which included Meeting Rooms, the Ballroom, the Lobby and public spaces. The new owner of the hotel, Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, wanted to retain the original character of the hotel, which is known and loved by guests as well as Portland locals. The rooms and suites were refreshed incorporating the hotel’s signature Tiffany Blue color with new carpets, soft seating, and coffee tables.

Daroff Design, Hotel Bedroom and Living Room Design Ideas

Daroff Design design for the refurbishment of the Loews Portofino – Orlando Universal Studio Resort’s guest rooms and suites are inspired by the seaside village and upscale sun-drenched resort of Portofino and its historic harbour on the Italian Riviera. Daroff Design created a fresh new sunny Mediterranean-inspired design for 750 guest rooms, suites and corridors by celebrating the charm, romance and glamour of Portofino Italy’s grand vacation villas and hotels. The refined palette of luxurious carpets, upholstery and drapery materials in soft neutral cream colours, paired with sun-baked shades of pale aqua are complemented by rich terra cotta coloured Rojo Alicate marble, custom-designed whitewashed beech wood furnishings. The decorative carpet patterns, inspired by ornate classical Italian design motifs, paired with modern simplicity and convenient technology, further enhance the guest experience and complements the resort’s theatrical architecture, central lagoon and lush landscape. Evocative of Portofino Italy’s classic seaside resort, some of these luxurious finishes have been purposely “sun-baked” and “distressed” so as to appear authentic in time and place.

Daroff Design provided interior design services for the renovation and adaptive reuse of the landmark PSFS Building into the Loews Philadelphia Convention Center Hotel. Loews’ guests appreciate the meticulously detailed interior evocative of that era juxtaposed with accessible, modern technology and media, all while enjoying the amenities and features they expect from a Loews hotel. This project included 585 guestrooms, a 265 seat restaurant/ bar, a 50,000 sq ft meeting/ ballroom, hospitality suites, presidential suites, junior suites, elevator lobbies, a fitness centre with an indoor pool, a new back-of-house and an employee cafeteria.

#1 Glass Light Hotel & Gallery, Autograph Collection

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Envisioned as a home for the hotel owners’ ever-expanding collection of singularly unique and profoundly exquisite glass art, the design of this distinctive 114-room boutique property connects hotel guests both conceptually and physically to the collection. Working closely with the owners, the design focuses on creating an activated and highly experiential guest journey from the moment you enter the historic building until you reach your room. The process of glassmaking, incorporating the elements of sand, fire, and air, is played out in curated, whimsical details in the hotel’s spaces; guestrooms are specifically envisioned as a play on the glassblower’s studio. Rooms offer an open concept so guests can easily work, relax, or create in the space. Art is inspired by the colour chips used for glassblowing. In the public spaces, the glass art takes centre stage; a marriage of wood and glass details further nod to the glassmaking process, while iconic commissioned and one-of-a-kind pieces from Chihuly, Peter Bremers, Stephen Powell, Lino Tagliapietra, and others — all from the owners’ personal collection—serve as a catalyst for larger conversations surrounding the artistry, inherent authenticity, and actual creation of glass. The showstoppers? Two custom, life-size glass bunnies by Bremers — one greeting guest at reception and another draped across the bar — cast and moulded-in Bremers’ studio in the Netherlands specifically for this hotel. The bunnies are a sweet nod to the owners, whose grandchildren call her Bunny. Originally constructed in 1912 as the headquarters building for the F.S. Royster fertilizer company, the 14-story classical-revival building home to this special property was predominantly used as an office building until its reimagining as an intellectually curious boutique hotel. Much of the building’s original architectural detail was uncovered during the renovation, giving the property an extraordinary harmony of old and new.

#2 Annapolis Waterfront Hotel, Autograph Collection

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Nuanced nautical influences set the tone for this comprehensive renovation, which included updates to all 150 guestrooms and suites and public spaces, as well as re-imaging of the exterior façade. The guestroom design features thoughtful details inspired by elements of a sailboat with warm tones and textures derived from the functional, yet cosy cabins down below. These are contrasted by organic patterns in materials inspired by the graceful movement of the winds and seas. The essence of the historic, seaside town will be brought to the rooms with the use of eclectic artwork and a curated assortment of furniture giving the space a charming, residential feel. Public spaces continue the journey with layered hues of navy and white, moody greys, and browns – a subtle and sophisticated nod to the palette of the sea. Modern fixtures and furniture, and larger-scaled art, provide a contemporary twist on the traditional theme.

#3 AC Hotel Orlando

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Located at the heart of downtown Orlando, this urban oasis in the sky is home to 180 guestrooms and signature AC Hotel spaces perched atop one of Orlando’s tallest buildings. This experience creates a relationship to the surrounding environment similar to that of a lighthouse – and it’s this notion of space as a beacon that sets the tone for this property. Through the use of high-contrast materials along distinct datum lines, layered zones, and deliberate framing of the unparalleled view, the design creates a subtle – yet dynamic – experience for locals and guests alike.

#4 AC/Moxy Atlanta Midtown

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

The 288-key AC/Moxy Dual Brand Midtown Atlanta is the first dual-brand of its type, with each brand having its own unique space and style. Working with Cooper Carry, Baskervill provided interior design services for the Moxy guestrooms, AC guestrooms and public spaces, shared Moxy and AC meeting spaces, fitness centre, and the amazing rooftop bar, High Note. The design takes cues from Midtown Atlanta’s thriving arts scene, reflecting the area’s expressive cultural fabric. Neighbouring arts venues act as the inspiration for the hotel’s “gallery of the arts” concept, a simple, yet sophisticated, palette of white, grey, olive, tan and mixed metals create a canvas for a carefully curated selection of vibrant local artwork unique to the space, including mural-style pieces and sculptural elements.

#5 Highline Vail DoubleTree

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Baskervill’s architecture, interior design, and MEP engineering teams joined forces to breathe new life and purpose into what was once a stuck-in-the-70s Holiday Inn, transforming it into a luxe retreat. Taking advantage of the vaulted ceilings and spectacular proximity to coveted Colorado slopes — this 115-guestroom property sports custom, lodge-style finishes (slate tiling, weathered woods, and sleek leather accents) that exude a refined rustic vibe. Towering panels of charred woods define a dramatic reception experience, punctuating the space with bright whites and earthy tones. Multi-purpose public spaces include a family-friendly game room and entertainment area and full-service bar and lounge, connected by an oversized, 20-foot-long, dual-sided fireplace. Naturally, the property also offers a unique ski and boot storage area adjacent to the entry.

#6 Richmond Marriott Short Pump

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Baskervill provided interior architecture and design services for this comprehensive guestroom and public space renovation at the Richmond Marriott Short Pump. Located in a bustling suburban office park, the design draws inspiration from the surrounding natural landscape and work/live/play lifestyle of the area. The existing lobby, restaurant, bar, reception and some back of house areas were demolished to make way for a new Marriott Great Room concept on the first floor. The space includes a day-to-night buffet and bar area, numerous small meeting and collaboration spaces, and an evening bar. A new, 24/7 M-Club Lounge for Marriott Rewards members will also offer food and drink options. The renovation also includes an expansion of the fitness area and three new meeting rooms, in addition to updated finishes and fixtures in the existing spaces. The aesthetic references rich tactile materials such as metal, concrete, and glass contrasted with modern sculptural elements. A neutral palette infused with the patina of mixed metals and wood and natural elements draws the eye to the clean lines of the architecture. Art from local Richmond-based artists is incorporated throughout.

#7 AC Atlanta Downtown

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Atlanta’s burgeoning international fashion scene served as the inspiration for the design of this conversion of an existing Holiday Inn to an AC Hotel in downtown Atlanta. Baskervill provided architectural and interior design services for this comprehensive renovation of the property’s public spaces and guestrooms, including an outdoor patio and garden area. First floor areas were reconfigured to include the brand’s signature media salons, AC Lounge Bar, AC Kitchen, and AC Library. On the property’s lower level, the fitness area was expanded while outside the terrace and pool areas were reworked to include a fire pit, lush landscape, and outdoor TVs. Guestrooms are AC’s prototypical Oscura Scheme, while public spaces reflect Atlanta’s multi-cultural landscape. Hints of rich purple and teal accent the brand’s neutral canvas. The design highlights details and trends in couture seen over time through purposeful art, fabric, and furniture selections.

#8 Hilton St. Louis Downtown at The Arch

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Drawing inspiration from the building’s late-19th century architecture, Baskervill worked with owner Inland American Lodging Advisor and Hilton Worldwide on an interior renovation to the historic Hilton St. Louis Downtown at the Arch. Originally constructed in 1888 as the headquarters for Merchant Laclède National Bank, the building’s restrained ornamentation, cast iron detailing, and Classical Revival touches to set the tone for the interior renovation. Updates to the guestrooms and public spaces, including the presidential suite, lobby, bar, and restaurant, fuse the old world architecture of the building with classic modern updates and amenities. A refined, elegant palette of tans, creams, and metallics pairs with rich wood tones and pops of vibrant emerald for a subtle, sophisticated feel. Artwork, specifically selected and custom-designed by the design team for the space, plays with the scale and texture of currency, offering a unique nod to the hotel’s prior life as a bank.

#9 The Equinox Luxury Hotel and SPA

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Known in various times as the Marsh Tavern, Thaddeus Munson’s New Inn, Widow Black’s Inn, Vanderlip’s Hotel, The Taconic, The Orvis Hotel, and Equinox House, The Equinox Golf Resort and Spa, dating back to 1769, stands as a symbol of the history and lifestyle of New England over the past two centuries. As the Architect of Record, Baskervill updated the 140 guest rooms and public spaces for The Equinox Golf Resort and Spa. The revitalization of this stunning property pays homage to the past while bringing sophisticated modern touches that make guests feel right at home. The finished results give guests the world-class luxury and service that The Equinox is renowned for in an updated setting. Most recently, Baskervill was also chosen to re-design the Colonnade Room, The Equinox’s premier ballroom and dining area. The vision for the Colonnade Room includes brightening and lifting the space with light walls, mouldings and window treatments, an elegant carpet pattern, and simplified lighting and ceiling details. Baskervill’s intent is to incorporate the luxurious nature of The Equinox brand while updating its appeal in today’s world of high standards.

#10 Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & SPA

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

“The Tasting Room: an intimate moment in an eloquent space” is the inspiration behind the design for the newly renovated guestrooms at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa by Baskervill. Using the locality’s natural landscape as a foundation, the design layers rich wood tones, burgundies and purples with neutrals in greys and creams to create a modern, yet enveloping and welcoming tone. Fixture and furniture selections err on the side of simplicity, letting the picturesque views and warm textures take centre stage.

#11 Hotel Indigo Gainesville at Celebration Pointe

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

The design of the six-story, 140-room hotel centres on the concept of mutualism — the symbiotic relationships between species that benefits both parties — as it expresses the relationship between the built environment and nature, nature and folklore, and folklore and people. The guest experience is meant to follow a progression from nature to the built environment, utilizing repetitive elements of varying materiality and focal artwork. Strict earth tones and exposed concrete floors punctuate the space’s raw nature with pops of bright pink and red florals in note-shaped stands breaking up the grassy green fabrics and faux-alligator textures of the lounge seating and dual-toned ottomans. Floating at varying levels, the lobby’s deconstructed ceiling tiles accentuate the unpredictable nods honouring Gainesville’s legends of the sky, swamp, and sound. The lobby bar’s staggered wood planks drop down from the ceiling, reflecting the stalactites and hanging bats one might see at the nearby preserve and wildlife refuge. The bar itself is clad in reclaimed wood tile with a bartop made of recycled quartz — that reflects the stalactites and hanging bats one might see at the nearby preserve and wildlife refuge. Extrapolated soundwaves of alligator growl ripple onto the backs of communal table chairs at the adjacent restaurant, nearing where the real rhythm of the hotel takes off: the guestrooms. There, Ellas McDaniel (better known as Bo Diddley) gets his due with a show-stopping mural to the American musician with Florida roots who influenced the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones. A two-toned lounge chair and snare-drum-inspired ottoman (that pulls double duty as a luggage bench) complement dynamic art pieces embracing the vibrancy of Bo’s notable hits — including his namesake “Bo Diddley beat,” which is abstracted in rhythmic patterning throughout the hotel.

#12 The Commonwealth

Baskervill, Memorable Tailored Modern Luxury Hotels

Baskervill partnered with SMI Hotel Group for a complete reimagining of The Commonwealth hotel’s historic identity, renovating the 11-story boutique property’s lobby, restaurant, meeting spaces, and 59-suite styled guestrooms. The strategy? Curate a visual love letter to the hotel’s home city with help from an utterly eclectic assembly of artists (and aesthetics) all riffing off a single prompt: What is Richmond to you? And one piece of locally sourced art and furniture at a time, a lively visual experience honouring for guests took shape. No matter where you are within the hotel, there’s a constant juxtaposition aimed at balancing new and old, subtle and bold, geometric and organic. From animated murals (a nod to a city covered in them) to unique guestroom monikers fashioned after famous local landmarks and people, there’s a rich story around every corner. Black and white photographs previously hung in guestrooms, many at least 100 years old, now hang in the hotel’s restaurant honouring the hotel’s vibrant legacy.

And after just 12 years in the business, the firm is already “Leading in Hospitality”.

Best Interior Designers of Zurich

Monoplan AG

Monoplan

Monoplan’s range of expertise is continuously evolving, as they have an international team. Their office in Zurich is not the only place where you will find members of their specialist team with impressive backgrounds. Monoplan’s branches in Germany and Greece also add to the diversity of the firm.

Monoplan AG’s Projects

1. Holiday Inn Zurich

Monoplan

As a celebration of its 10-year anniversary in Oerlikon, Holiday Inn has commissioned Monoplan to renovate the lobby and bar of the Holiday Inn Oerlikon. The brief was to design cozy and inviting contemporary spaces that would harmonize with the existing building.

Monoplan

Being inspired by the hotel’s close proximity to Zurich’s Hallenstadion, an important venue for concerts, Monoplan’s maxim was “let us entertain you”. Since the hotel’s bar is usually replete with concert-goers the hotel’s reception counter has been designed to double up as a pop-up bar in case of need.

Music also plays the main role in the lounge. Records and instruments serve as decoration. On closer inspection, the pendulum lights above the bar turn out to be converted hi-hats (drums).

2. Ameron Boutique Hotel

Monoplan

Hotel Bellerive au Lac is located right on the shore of Lake Zürich, only a stone’s throw from the Opera House. It was built in the 1920s. Monoplan was tasked with refurbishing the storied building. After extensive reconstruction and renovation work, it will reopen as the first AMERON Boutique Hotel in early 2021.

INSPIRED BY THE LOOK

INSPIRED BY THE LOOK

Monoplan

On the heels of Davos and Lucerne, it will be Switzerland’s third AMERON hotel and the first AMERON Boutique Hotel in the country.

For the interior, Monoplan reimagined the existing hotel design in a more contemporary interpretation. The 61 rooms and suites, as well as the conference rooms, were remade in new splendor. The restaurant, with its new bar, has the potential to become Zürich’s next hot tip for a night out.

3. Lady Spa in the Interalpen Hotel-Tyrol

Monoplan

After only seven weeks of renovation, the new Lady Spa in the Interalpen Hotel-Tyrol opened in May 2018. This marks the completion of the third and final part of the overall renewal of the Interalpen Spa. In addition to the Lady Spa, a youth club with a cinema room now complements the hotel’s facilities.

Monoplan

The new Lady Spa presents itself in dark tones. The sauna, steam sauna, shower world, and ice fountain are grouped around a room that resembles a scene from the Arabian Nights. The equally stylish relaxation room offers access to the outdoor area with a view of the beautiful mountain panorama.

Another highlight in light shades is the new spa reception with the integrated shop. The interior design zones the spacious room into inviting waiting areas, stylish presentation options for care products, and Monoplan has created an atmosphere of relaxation.

4. Private Spa in the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol

Monoplan

After more than 15 years, the health & beauty area of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol has been completely redesigned, by Monoplan. The aim was to incorporate the new facilities into the existing premises harmoniously. The treatment rooms in particular are now of the highest technological standard. A private SPA area was created as a new highlight, which can be combined in various ways with the other areas.

Monoplan

The whole renovation, achieved by Monoplan, is based on an overall concept for the entire spa area of the hotel, which will be executed step by step over the coming years. Part of the concept involves turning areas that are loud, bright, and lively into areas that are quiet, dim, and serene. The new treatment area is protected acoustically from the louder areas, meaning that guests can completely relax. A lot of wood, high-quality materials, and intelligent lighting underpin the 5-star-plus claim of the hotel.

5. Panorama Suites in the Interalpen Hotel-Tyrol

Monoplan

In spring 2019, under the motto “NATURAL. LUXURY.”, the new panorama suites on the 7th floor of the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol were finished. This Monoplan’s project involved stripping the entire story all the way back to a shell. To integrate the extensive range of HVAC systems and to create a generous room height, the roof in the lower area had to be slightly elevated. New elements like underfloor heating, ceilings with integrated cooling systems, and sunshades were installed as a matter of course.

Monoplan

The highlight is the large terraces with an unrestricted view over the glorious mountain landscape. And thanks to the large panoramic windows of the new suites, the atmosphere inside is also shaped by the landscape. Overall, the rooms and bathtubs feel extremely spacious and generously sized. High-quality materials like oakwood flooring and exquisite natural stone afford the new interior a classy yet fresh look.

6. Ruby Hotel in Geneva

Monoplan

In early 2022, Geneva’s first Ruby Hotel will be opening its doors only 200 meters from Lake Geneva’s shoreline. Right between Rue de Rhône and Rue du Marché, Geneva’s two largest shopping streets and in the city’s very heart. The new hotel, will comprise three interlinked buildings, one of them with an original historical façade. Monoplan was appointed to draft plans for the repurposing of the former office complexes.

A lift takes guests from the Galerie Jean-Malbuisson shopping arcade straight up to the 7th floor to find reception and the public lobby lounge bar.

One of the secrets to Ruby Hotels’ success and popularity is its interior design. Geneva’s Ruby Hotel will thus be presenting many similarities to Düsseldorf’s Ruby Coco and Munich’s Ruby Lilly, but not without subtle differences to underline its very own character.

7. Grand Hotel Rhodania

Monoplan

Monoplan has been tasked with planning the new build of the Grand Hotel Rhodania in Crans Montana. This hotel was once known for its magnificent charm. The design concept aims to resurrect the grandeur and glamour of the former hotel and place it in a new context in interesting ways. High-quality, natural materials will create a timeless, elegant, and extremely luxurious ambiance.

Monoplan

As well as 41 suites, two exclusive maisonette suites on the roof – at 150 m² and 180 m² respectively – are some of the highlights of the new hotel.
The restaurant has been divided into two different spaces with different ambiances, but which complement each other; a sheltered area with tables for private conversation, and an open area for those wanting a more lively and bustling setting.

8. Hotel Pellas

Monoplan

Boutique Hotel Pellas is situated in the middle of the Swiss mountains, at the heart of a ski resort next to a popular ski piste. Split over four levels, the hotel boasts 22 rooms and one suite. The sun terrace outside has enough space for around 400 guests.

The aim of the project was to renovate the existing building and to add an extension. The extension had to respect the essence of the original building and give the hotel a contemporary overall appearance with high architectural quality. Regular guests were also to have an instant sense of familiarity with the new building.

The facade facing the ski piste is impressive in volume and rises out of the expanse of the roof. The large windows of the façade provide an excellent view over the ski piste and the surrounding mountains.

Parts of the facade and the roof are made from Corten steel, affording the building a distinctive appearance, yet one that incorporates the regional and traditional elements.

9. Waldhotel Bürgenstock

Monoplan

The Medical Wellness Hotel on Bürgenstock mountain combines exclusive architecture with the highest level of ecological standards. Thanks to its terraced structure and the green rooftops, the Waldhotel blends in with the landscape.

The building is made from natural materials. The stones used for the façade, for example, originate from the section of the hill that was removed to make way for the hotel, thereby underlining the ecological concept of the building.

Monoplan

With 160 rooms and suites and around 4,800 m² of space for medical applications and wellness treatments, the Waldhotel focuses on the rest and recovery phase following medical procedures.

The building was designed by Matteo Thun & Partners from Milan. As the local partner of Matteo Thun in Switzerland, Monoplan oversaw the implementation planning and coordination with the public authorities.

10. Panorama Hotel Waldenburg

In Waldenburg/Germany, the new “Panorama Hotel” of the Würth Group is taking shape next to the existing hotel. The conference hotel is characterized by an unparalleled view across the surrounding hilly landscape.

As well as a generous amount of space for holding conferences and a small wellness area, the hotel also boasts highlights of a more culinary nature, including a restaurant and bar.
