Barcelona is a captivating seaside city with immeasurable culture, timeless architecture and amazing drinking and dining scene. Barcelona is a city that has inspired artists such as Pablo Picallo, Joan Miró and Gaudí! We gathered a collection of seven boutique hotels of this wonderful city that will get you planning ahead for the summer.

1.Monument Hotel
The Monument Hotel is an emblematic Catalan symbol, where modern luxury meets old-world elegance. Situated in Barcelona’s upscale shopping street – Passeig de Gràcia, the Monument Hotel is within walking distance of the renowned Gaudí masterpieces such as La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
The hotel has a rich heritage dating back to the 19th century while it operated as part of Hotel Condes de Barcelona. In 2014, architect Oscar Tusquets worked alongside Carles Basso, Tote Moreno and interior designer Mercè Borrell to renovate the space, which debuted in 2016 as the luxe Monument Hotel.
2.Mandarin Oriental Barcelona
Also located at Passeig de Gràcia, Mandarin Barcelona is a modern and luxurious retreat within walking distance of the famous Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter. The hotel offers a serene oasis from the busy city life with a world-class restaurant, rooftop pool, spa and a garden to unwind and relax with a cocktail. 3.Majestic Hotel & Spa
Majestic Hotel & Spa, another one located at Passeig de Gràcia, showcases classic luxury and is one of the most desirable locations in the city. The impressive neoclassic façade alongside with the great service is the landmark of the hotel which opened in 1918 and is still operated by the same family since its opening.
The Majestic Hotel has one of the best private modern art collections in Barcelona: with contemporary works from the 20th century to contributions from Antoni Tàpies, Richard Long and Anish Kapoor. 4.Hotel Casa Fuster
Hotel Casa Fuster is Barcelona’s modernist boutique hotel located within walking distance to Gaudí’s Casa Milà. Hamornising a modernist atmosphere with distinctive architecture, art deco and contemporary furnishings, the Hotel Casa Fuster’s lobby has a black mosaic floor and fluted pillars. Dark colours and subtle modern designs create peaceful guest rooms.
5.Gran Hotel La Florida
The Gran Hotel La Florida is located on the historic hilltop on Mount Tibidabo, overlooking Barcelona offering gorgeous views. About twenty minutes from the city’s centre, the hotel has seventy art nouveau inspired rooms and suites, with awe-inspiring views of the city and the Mediterranean. Built-in 1925, the Gran Hotel La Florida has received various famous guests such as Ernest Hemingway and Rock Hudson and nowadays is still a celebrity favourite whilst staying in Spain.
6.Hotel Arts Barcelona
Hotel Arts offers one of the best views of the city with the beach within walking distance. This boutique hotel was built in 1992 for the Olympics and became an icon of the city with its steel-and-blue glass exposed beam tower-like building.
7.The Cotton House Hotel
Cotton House Hotel, one of Marriott’s Autograph Collection properties, is one of the most exciting new investments in Barcelona. The hotel is located on Gran Via, one of the city’s most popular streets and close to a slew of the best attractions, from foodie favourites to shoppers’ dreams.
Formerly the 19th-century headquarters of the Cotton Producers Guild, much of the original design was preserved. Original belle époque features like frescoed ceilings and ornate floor tiles are grand with the overall modern feel of the hotel due to interior designer Lazaro Rosa-Violan’s whimsical touches.
