Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon

The Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon recently underwent a renovation of its guestrooms, suite, also unveiling a new outdoor swimming pool, outdoor bar and terrace. The Portuguese architecture studio OITOEMPONTO was appointed in 2019 to breathe new life into the guest rooms and suites at the iconic hotel.

Four Seasons Hotel Lisbon also opened a new restaurant – CURA – where the Chef and head culinary curator Pedro Pena Bastos meticulously selects ingredients, drawing from Lisbon’s rich regional palette to create seasonal, artisanal dishes such as squid with hazelnut, bergamot, roasted seaweed butter and Ossetra caviar. 

Pestana Palácio do Freixo

The Pestana Palácio do Freixo is a five-star hotel and was classified in 1910 as a National Monument due to being a unique example of Baroque architecture. The Palácio do Freixo setting is that of an urban resort, with breathtaking views of the Douro River, being a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel is characterised by its sumptuous 18th-century architecture, built by Nicolau Nasoni, one of the most important architects that helped Porto become a World Heritage Site.

The Lumiares Boutique Hotel, Lisbon

The Lumiares is a five-star boutique hotel located at the heart of the city, paying homage to Lisbon’s colours, patterns and light. Designed in collaboration with Portuguese brands, makers and artists, the beautiful apartment-like rooms are designed to feel like a five-star home away from home.

The Lumiares Boutique Hotel is situated in a Lisbon quarter home to a bohemian mishmash of everyday residents, artists and merchants’ studios, restaurants, quirky shops, lively bars and cafes; a warren of asymmetrical buildings with mismatched facades of varying heights and hues, its narrow streets and pavements cobbled in Lisbon’s iconic square paving stones.

Douro41 Hotel & Spa

Douro41 Hotel & Spa has sixty-one rooms and five suites, undergoing a renovation during 2018 and 2019 to showcase modern minimalist lines, whilst maintaining the comfort and elegance of a unique luxury property. The hotel is in harmony with the river and the mountains surrounding it – a prime example of this are the two outdoor swimming pools, both infinite, where guests almost feel part of the landscape. With a contemporary design, neutral tones and architecture that enhances the Douro River’s beauty, the Douro41 Hotel & Spa is the ultimate luxurious getaway.

W Algarve

W Algarve was due to open in April, however it was postponed to October 2021. The hotel is the first resort project outside of Asia for the interior design studio AB Concept who have been working closely with Divercity Architects. W Algarve will have one-houndred and thrity-four rooms and suites as well as eighty-three residences with a modern style harmonised with local influences.

Each room connects with large private balconies, while duplex living adds style to the WOW suites, all offering coastal rooftop views. AB Concept, led by Ed Ng and Terence Ngan, has taken the region’s rugged coastlines, green meadows and vineyards as inspiration for the interior design scheme, using sandy neutrals, greens and blues throughout the hotel.
