Hotel Openings June: a recap on all the amazing hotels that have opened this year is going to be today’s topic, as well as presenting the future openings still happening this month. From Los Angeles to Norway, the Maldives and Santorini, we are going to take you on a unique journey.
With the summer approaching and with still barriers closed due to the pandemic, we need to adapt our choices accordingly. Even though some exotic and unique locations may remain closed destinations, there are still a lot of options to explore, even in idyllic locations.
Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the Proper Downtown LA has one hundred and forty rooms in a design that harmonises past and present, with vintage and local art influences. The hotel will have two restaurants lead by Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne, a friendly lounge, a city-view rooftop pool and a lounge-bar-restaurant.
Located in the World Heritage City Bergen, the Moxy has a waterfront location that offers unparalleled views overlooking Norway’s famed fjords. The Moxy Bergen is an energetic alternative to a typical hotel experience in the city, with a playful design inspired by its destination; the interior design of the hotel has a focus on natural elements with wooden furniture and installations.
Kuda Villingili, located in the North Malé Atoll in the Maldives, is preparing to open its doors to luxury travellers on the hunt for an island getaway. With a beachfront spa, the Kuda Villingili Resort & Spa is going to offer a unique experience, with an impressive menu and a spacious 150m long pool encircled by sunbeds, cabanas and bars.
A member of the new luxury boutique hotel management company – Epoque Collection – OMMA Santorini is a five-star property secluded on a hilltop that offers a journey through all the senses from the outside architecture to the interior design. The hotel has twenty-five rooms and suites, with five villas, organised amphitheatrically around the water, providing an intimate hideaway for couples and families alike. Each of the villas has a private swimming pool. The contemporary and timeless style throughout the hotel balances with the crisp white walls and clean-cut spaces against charcoal sun loungers and furniture to create a design that boats luxury and elegance.
