THANK YOU FOR YOUR REQUEST
We will be in touch soon.
A hotel is a hotel is a hotel. Uhm. Nope. And yes. A hotel provides you with a place to sleep, but here the similarities stops. There are a lot of incredible places around the world we hope to stay in at one point, some of them are really uncommon and unique. For our inspiration and yours, we had a go at picking out some of the most unique and outlandish places to stay around the world. See the 5 most uncommon hotels bellow.
Want to spend the night with Toby and Sweet Willy? No, that’s not an indecent proposal. You can even sleep inside Sweet Willy, the world’s biggest beagle. It’s a bed and breakfast, but gladly, the dog-obsessed owners don’t serve you dog food but self made pastries and beagles. Sorry, I mean bagels.
Ice, Ice Baby. You don’t have to be cool to stay in the Icehotel. But to feel like the Snow Queen you have to wait until winter begins. Then a team of snow builders, architects, designers and artists from all over the world, are heading to the little village of Jukkasjärvi in Lapland to create each year’s version of Icehotel. Yes, there’s a new one EACH year. And as soon as spring springs it melts away again. Magical about this place is also its location, with the infamous right outside your window and the incredible Torne river just a stone’s throw away.
The Aurora at your door step.
Cuddle up in warm furs while a wonderland of ice surrounds you.
No ice cubes needed in the drinks at the bar of the Icehotel – they come in ice glasses.
3. Capsule Hotel, The Netherlands
As the Icehotel is only open during winter in the Capsule hotel you only can stay during summer. Why? Well it could get a little chilly in your survival pod. Yes, in your survival pod. Like James Bond in “The Spy Who Loved Me”. You sleep in hammocks and when you book the luxury version you will even get a DVD player with every James Bond movie ever made.
4. Hotel Everland, at the moment in Switzerland
Normally people travel to stay at a hotel. Hotel Everland travels so people can sleep here. Huh? Yes, this hotels travels around the world. It’s already been in Yverdon, Leipzig and Paris so far. There is only one room and you can only stay one night, but at the moment it’s in Switzerland and resting from all the travel. Next stop? Not sure yet.
Why get mobile when your hotel does it for you?
A room with quite a view. The Everland in Paris.
Romance and relaxation guaranteed – the Everland in Switzerland’s Yverdon, by the Neuchatel lake
5. Magic Mountain Lodge, Chile
You won’t find many true four star hotels in Chile. The Magic Mountain Lodge is one of them and so much more. It adapts the story of a magic mountain which has magical powers and grants wishes. I’m not quite sure if it really has magical powers, but at least a waterfall cascades from the roof and gives this hotel a real fairytale touch.
A princess at last. Now all you need to do is find a prince who comes find you on top of your tower hotel.
The all wooden interior guarantees for a cosy feel-good time.

Top 10 Industrial-Chic Hotels – While there’s plenty to be said in favor of the new, sometimes the best things stem from a solid original foundation. Industrial structures like warehouses and factories are finding new incarnations as luxury hotels, challenging designers to have hotel interior design creative ideas with old bones and drawing in guests who seek a sense of history and character. Providing the best hotel experiences and luxury travel with cutting-edge hotels that come from humble origins.
From humble to high-design, check those 10 converted buildings that breathe new life into the old.
1. 1888 Hotel, Sydney
One of Sydney’s trendiest accommodations, 1888 Hotel opened its doors in July, welcoming guests to its 90-room boutique property in the Pyrmont neighborhood. The guest rooms feature ten-foot ceilings; windows and desks constructed from recycled timber; and a lobby, an atrium and a bar studded with reclaimed wooden beams and exposed brick. (Despite the vintage details, the five-story hotel takes a modern approach to technology: Each room comes with an iPad and Instagram users with more than 10,000 followers are entitled to one complimentary night’s stay.) The staff wears denim work shirts in a cheeky nod to the heritage-listed building’s previous life as a woolshed.
2. Fabriken Furillen, Gotland, Sweden
While most former industrial buildings are found in ports or in cities, Fabriken Furillen is a rural outlier on the island of Gotland, off Sweden’s southeastern coast. Once a limestone refinery, the 18-room hotel (including two cabins) is a haven of sharp-edged Scandinavian design in a stunningly scenic—almost lunar—setting. Rooms are painted in white or gray and feature luxury beds, Bang & Olufsen technology (some rooms have televisions, others have radios; the cabins are electronics-free) and bucolic touches like sheepskin rugs and blankets made from Gotland wool. The restaurant serves simple, elegant meals made with island-grown vegetables and herbs.
3. Wythe Hotel, Brooklyn, New York
Brooklyn is home to plenty of reclaimed industrial spaces, but the Wythe Hotel is one of the newest (it opened in May 2012) and chicest. Floor-to-ceiling windows in many rooms look straight out onto the Manhattan skyline over the East River, letting in copious amounts of sunlight to play off the exposed-brick walls and custom-made wallpaper. Original cast-iron columns, masonry and 13-foot-high timber ceilings speak to the building’s history as a cooperage. The concrete floors are heated (a detail the former tenants might have appreciated as they rolled out barrels on the Williamsburg waterfront); the furniture (beds were constructed from pine taken from the ceilings) and artwork is made locally.
4. Refinery Hotel, New York
A century-old neo-Gothic building in the heart of New York’s Garment District, the Refinery started out as a millinery factory. It is now an elegant, eclectic 12-story hotel with amazing structural features and plenty of luxurious amenities. Opened in May 2013, it features lobby details (a 72-foot custom-designed runner, vaulted ceilings, plaid-patterened finished-walnut walls) that evoke an old New York feel. In the rooms, steel-and-leather headboards reinforce the industrial ambiance, while wooden bedside lockers add a touch of nostalgia. On occasion the hotel’s loading dock becomes Hatbox, a gallery space hosting art exhibits and fashion shows.
5. Sir Albert, Amsterdam
Though Sir Albert may have a fictional host at its helm (the gentleman of its name is a made-up character), the hotel has a very real former life as a 19th-century diamond factory. Despite the space’s original connection to gems, the decor has a distinctly masculine feel, thanks to brown curtains, dark wood furniture in the guest rooms and cowskin-patterned cubes for sitting in the Study—a cozy public space with deep leather armchairs and well-stocked bookshelves. Plenty of bright northern sunshine streams in through the high windows in most rooms, which harkens back to the legacy of the diamond workers, who needed the best possible light to practice their craft.
6. Waterhouse, Shanghai
Formerly a dockyard warehouse on the Huangpu River, Waterhouse is now a high-design hotel. While plenty of its earliest features have been preserved—the window frames are original metal and the wall behind the reception desk looks positively ancient—the refurbished concept (by the lavishly praised Neri & Hu Design and Research Office) is a modern masterpiece. Playing with conventions of internal and external spaces, the design allows guests to peek into private quarters from public areas and vice versa. Gloriously sleek and minimalist, the 19 rooms contrast nicely with views onto the neon-lit Bund, which is crammed with unconventionally shaped skyscrapers.
7. Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul
Originally a tobacco warehouse in the 1930s, this Shangri-La property opened in May 2013 with the largest guestrooms in Istanbul. Situated on the European side of the city, with many rooms overlooking the Bosphorus Strait, the hotel pays homage to the opulence of its Bosphorus neighbor, Dolmabahçe Palace. Chandeliers glitter, specially commissioned artwork dazzles, and Turkish-marble bathrooms come stocked with Bulgari bath products. The hotel’s architects even restored the Neoclassical façade of the original warehouse. For unparalleled views, check out the Shangri-La Suite, which has three private terraces and overlooks the Old City (the Asian bank of the strait) and the Bosphorus Bridge.

8. Grace Hotel, Beijing
Beijing’s 798 Art District is home to converted warehouses aplenty, but Grace Hotel—a former crystal factory—stands out for its high-end contemporary Chinese design. Open since 2011, Grace has 30 rooms in five categories, ranging from the tiny Artist Studios (each with a single bed) to the Grace Suite, a large south-facing space with photos by photographer Chi Peng and a trendily furnished living area. Champagne breakfasts, a gorgeously graffitied courtyard and proximity to Beijing’s most exciting galleries are drawing visitors in droves.
9. 21c Museum Hotel, Louisville, Kentucky
The 21c functions not only as a hotel but also—as the name would suggest—as a contemporary art museum. Created from five warehouse buildings once used to store bourbon and tobacco, the hotel makes the most of its 19th-century timber trusses, cast-iron construction and glass transoms left over from the original structures. Guest rooms are a mix of luxury (Herman Miller chairs, Malin+Goetz bath amenities) and quirk.
10. Sala Rattanakosin, Bangkok
Set on the banks of the Chao Phraya River just across from Wat Arun (known as the Temple of Dawn), Sala Rattanakosin, which opened earlier this year, is situated in one of the best locations in Bangkok. Cobbled together from a brick warehouse and two shophouses that date back to the 19th century, the 16-room hotel fits nicely into its historic neighborhood. And while the rooms themselves are ultramodern in design, with sleek black-and-white interiors, the views of the river and the temple (which positively glows at sunset) are the real draw. Take a seat on the rooftop bar, a cold beer in hand, and enjoy one of the best places to savor the sights.

Every Hotel wants to provide exclusive hotel experiences and a good night of sleep. Hotel Interior Designs will give you today the best 7 tips to create unforgettable luxury suites.
Sleeping well provides countless health benefits. In addition to a pleasant sensation of sleeping well, sleep is a primary moment and, therefore, affects our ability to reason and take decisions. So, with some hotel interior design tips, every hotel can allow its guests to have great rest in each luxury travel.
1. Guest Room Environment
It’s important to have a décor that not only suits your taste but makes you feel good and relaxed.
Tip #1: Classic colours
2. Mattress
This is an obvious one – without the right matress you will continue to wake up not feeling great. So, throw out that old mouldy mattress and spare no effort in choosing your mattress and pillow. All mattresses should respond according to the shape of your body, instead of sinking or sagging fully or in part.
Tip #2: a Persono mattress – is an hygienic mattress that is also a design piece.
3. The Bed
Just like the mattress, the bed is a major factor. It needs a good lombar suppport but also, a good support for your mattress. Also, the bed is the focal point of any room, so buy a beautifull one – and the most luxurious bedding you can find.
Tip #3: Forbidden Bed by Koket
4. Make it bright
Of course it’s nice to sleep in the dark. However, you should let natural light come in during the day. Wide windows not only help with the light, but also with the heat. For your guest rooms consider having sheer curtains to help keep the room bright. Since at night it is, well, dark, opt for a good lamp.
Tip #4: Billy Table by Delightfull
5. Designer Furniture
More than just the bed, the rest of the guest room should have the best design. Be bold!
Tip #5: Get a nightstand that you love and a chest of drawers that makes that suite an imaginary place. See this one, the Crochet by Boca do Lobo.
6. Wall art and Mirrors
Spice up the walls – don’t let them just be there empty. Paint them, put some painting or frames on it or simply use a mirror.
Tip #6: Apollo mirror by Boca do Lobo
7. Upholstery
Finalize the suite décor with a great sofa or armchair. Confortable, yet funtional and filled with design.
Tip #7: : The Matis armchair by BRABBU.

Rethinking Guestroom Configurations
No longer is the classic bed-table-locker combo enough to make a hotel room feel inviting. In today’s world guests expect surprises and where else, but away from home. Probably why each interior in the modern hospitality industry is very different from the next. Creative offices for business travelers, interesting looking TV panels and an extra sofa next to the king-sized bed are just some of the key “ingredients” for a trendy hotel room. We’ve also seen color explosions and eclectic decor mixes, which can definitely appeal to guests wanting to experience unique accommodation.
Blurring Indoor-Outdoor Boundaries
Sensory experiences go a long way. This “principle” was well integrated in the array of services offered by modern hotel owners, who struggle to keep the indoor outdoor transition as “ethereal” as possible. Not only are hotel rooms expanded through large decks and terraces, but nature is brought inside in every possible way. Wood paneling, stone decorations, lush greenery, indoor waterfalls- these are just some of the elements employed to release the tension of hotel guests.

Personalized Spaces
It is a fact that the memory of a hotel stays with guests a long, long time if the accommodation experience is unique. With this in mind, hotel owners personalize spaces as never before. Pop-up hotels, and modular hotels are new concepts slowly gaining interest in the industry. Themed guestrooms also have a strong impact, especially when visitors can only try one at a time.
A Home Away From Home
More than anything, hotel rooms should provide comfort, that feeling of a home away from home. No matter how luxurious, technology friendly and weird-themed the room, coziness is a major factor to consider. Wood additions, inspired decorating items, carpets, curtains, a fireplace, a TV set and the possibility to play your guest’s favorite music- all these adds up to a memorable stay.
Green Features
Sustainability is a delicate issue for hotel owners, as they are doing their best to minimize short term costs. But being ahead of the game is important, which sometimes leads to innovative ideas. Over-sized windows for natural lighting, natural building materials, green walls and green roofs, recycling bins for guests, electronic water faucets, locally grown food for cooking and graywater recycling are just a few of the hotel trends for staying green.
Not Just a Restaurant, But a Destination in Itself
Few hotel restaurants still base their appeal strictly on “practicability”. Cooking is an art and so should be the “exhibition space”. We’ve seen more and more hotel restaurants turned into memorable spaces through design. Themes are highly recommended, pushing creativity to new heights and turning each venue into a destination in itself.
Spa-Like Bathroom Features
Bathrooms stopped being perceived as auxiliary rooms, spaces to be minimized, in order to expand living areas. The modern tourist expects more than he gets at home in his journeys. A resort bathroom with spa-like features is an open invite to relaxation and a sure-proof method of alluring guests through the promise of ephemeral luxury. Think en-suite bedrooms, waterfall showers, over-sized bathtubs, his&hers sinks, giant towels, beauty items and plenty of space.

San Alfonso Del Mar Resort (Chile) currently holds the record for the largest swimming pool in the world. It covers as much as eight hectares of land with a total length of one kilometer and reaches 35 meters at its deepest point. In order to have it filled over 250 million liters of seawater is pumped, filtered, and treated from the Pacific Ocean into the pool. This pool is so huge that it accommodates smaller pools near the edges. It has a Jacuzzi, a water trampoline, a glassed pyramid pool, sandy beaches on one section; and a dock for mini sailboats and kayaks.
Chile’s monster pool uses a computer-controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other.
The sun warms the water to 26c, nine degrees warmer than the adjoining sea.
Chilean biochemist Fernando Fischmann, whose Crystal Lagoons Corporation designed the pool, said advanced engineering meant his company could build “an impressive artificial paradise” even in inhospitable areas. It uses hardly any chemicals.
“As long as we have access to unlimited seawater, we can make it work, and it causes no damage to the ocean.”
Here are some pictures of the biggest swimming pool in the world. Pool party anyone?
