The lobby is perhaps the best indicator of a hotel’s quality. It is, of course, the first thing customers notice when they arrive. So, today, we will explore some of the most Luxurious Hotel Lobbies in the World.
When designing an inviting, beautifully laid-out hotel lobby, a lot goes into the planning. While some entries may appear minor or almost unimportant in comparison to the excellent service and attention to detail provided by the hotel, others may be so extravagant that they overshadow the tiny room that awaits you. Let’s see some of the most luxurious ones.
Ritz Carlton (Astana, Kazakhstan)
When you walk into Astana, the Ritz Carlton’s first hotel in Kazakhstan, you’re greeted by a grand staircase that overlooks the entire marble-filled lobby. A large chandelier hangs over a fireplace in the centre of the room, and art adorns the walls from floor to ceiling.
Editor’s Choice
Mandarin Oriental (Barcelona, Spain)
You’ll enter this minimalist lobby through a raised walkway from the hotel’s entrance, which is flooded with natural light and has a relaxed atmosphere. The lobby has a view of the hotel’s restaurant, which is also decorated in a Scandinavian style.

St. Regis (Shenzhen, China)
You’ll literally be above it all in the lobby of St. Regis in Shenzhen. The hotel occupies floors 75 to 100 of Shenzhen’s tallest building, with the lobby on the 96th floor. The lobby has a large atrium that extends the length of the hotel. Through large windows, the lobby bar offers views of Shenzhen and its lush surroundings.
Hyatt Regency (Cleveland, Ohio)
The Hyatt Regency’s breathtaking lobby, located in a landmarked arcade building in downtown Clevland, provides a spectacular view of the entire building, while the glass ceiling fills the space with natural light.
Bowery Hotel (New York City)
With its worn-in Persian rugs, taxidermy, plush velvet armchairs, and uniformed bellhops, the lobby of this downtown hotel are reminiscent of a Wes Anderson film.
Country Club Lima (Lima, Peru)
The opulent style of Country Club Lima is immediately apparent upon entering the hotel, with its chandeliers, Spanish tiles, brass fixtures, and marble floors. The lobby bar, Bar Ingles, was a favourite of Hemingway’s and arguably serves the best pisco sour in Lima.

Ritz Carlton Tokyo (Japan)
The Ritz Carlton Tokyo has one of the best views of the city from its grand lobby, which may have something to do with its location on the 45th floor. The lobby features live performers throughout the day, and the bar is a must-see for cocktail enthusiasts.
Mandarin Oriental (Bangkok, Thailand)
The recently renovated lobby of the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok retains the hotel’s historic “temple bell” chandeliers and guard elephants while updating with a modern design and lush greenery. The space is illuminated with dramatic lighting at night to highlight the updated space.
Four Seasons (Paris)
Flowers dominate the lobby of this grand hotel steps away from the Champs-Elysées, giving off a relaxing, out-of-the-way vibe. The decor is completed by ornate French details and sculptures, as well as a massive chandelier.
