Provocateur Hotel, the Burlesque 1920s Interior Design in Berlin

Provocateur Hotel‘s design intends to stay true to its name: inspired by the glamour of 1920s Paris this hotel’s interiors got a burlesque twist fitting for Berlin. Berlin is a city known for its rich history, museums and nightlife, and this amazing hotel fits right in. The Provocateur Hotel is located on the west side of the city with luxury shops such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and Dolce and Gabbana, within a five-minute walk away.

The Provocateur Hotel has an Art Nouveau façade typical of the 1911 houses designed by Wolhem Gutzeit. Originally a residential building, the structure was converted into a hotel after World War II. Its stern front was recently renovated by TSSB Architekten Ingenieure, reanimating the building’s classic personality.

The Lobby

As soon as guests walk into the lobby, they are greeted with a drawing-room like style outfitted with plush, jewel-toned velvet seeing, tin ceiling, deep black walls and mood lighting that instantly transports to the Paris roaring 20s.

The Restaurant

Called Golden Phoenix the restaurant is lead by the celebrated chef Duc Ngo, whose Asian-French fusion dishes are beautifully presented in a lavish red-and-black dining room. The upscale restaurant serves dishes ranging from beef buns to delicate steam cod in ginger-soy sauce.

The Provocateur Hotel Bar

The Provocateur Bar attracts a fashionable local crowd with its dimly lit, u-shaped bar and flamboyant red-velvet booths. They prepare their own liqueurs and create their own infusions, so the menu is filled with modern cocktails to a punch inspired drink from the 1700s. Performers roaming the room might include an accordion-playing singer in a tight sequined dress.

The Rooms and Suites

The Provocateur Hotel has fifty-eight rooms filled with opulent chandeliers and rich red or royal blue velvet walls, furnishings and draperies. Room sizes vary from Petite to Deluxe with two suites worth the try: the open-plan Maison Suite has a nifty triangular ceiling punctuated by skylights, while the Terrace Suite’s sprawling patio with city views cannot be beaten in warm weather. The bathrooms are lined in black marble, porcelain pedestal sinks with brass accents; the smaller rooms have rainforest showers while the deluxe vaunt freestanding bathtubs.
