A big surprise at the Top Hotel Opening Award 2016, which won the best hotel opening awards last year was the “Luxury” category where the two hotels stood out, the jury award twice: the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera and the Roomers Baden-Baden.

Since its repositioning in 2007, Sofitel has become a key player in the luxury segment of the hotel industry. Today, the brand continues to expand in major cities and locations worldwide. Frankfurt was now also selected.
Drawing on the recognized expertise of the designer Nicolas Adnet, Sofitel has created an hospitality project inspired by the French city mansions of the 17th and 18th centuries. All the furniture and facilities of the highest quality were specially designed for the hotel interior design.
Holger Flory from Roomers Baden-Baden and King Tau from the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera were able to receive a trophy in the luxury category. The high-caliber jury was not able to decide on a single winner even after intensive discussions, which is why two winners were selected in a category for the first time in the six-year history of the award.
