The design concept behind the St. Regis Osaka was to pay homage to the golden age of Japanese history – the Momoyama period: an era of hope, prosperity and harmony. As soon as guests step into the hotel they are greeted with a moonlight ambience due to the combination of silver leaf, bronze and dark marble flooring, with a sparkling crystal tree as the centre of attention. The reception and lobby lounges evoke the brightness of the sun, with large scale limestone tiles on the walls and bespoke chandeliers that create a gracious ambience enhanced even further by the views over the Japanese garden terrace.

The first step taken by the GA Group was to develop a design scheme rooted in the cultural landscape of Nara – a place famous for its temples, landscape, historical buildings and Nara Deer.
