Hotel Designs from Venice is going to be today’s topic. Venice is a city with pride in its past with outstanding natural settings, untainted architectural heritage sites, the Grand Canal, world-class museums and 141 churches that are galleries in themselves.
The Aman Hotel is the only hotel in the city with a water-facing garden to the Gran Canal. The garden’s green space is the only one of the ways in which the property shows its dedication to peace and calm – staying true to the hotel’s name aman – meaning peace, shelter and safety in eight different languages.
Originally built in the mid-16th century by the Coccina family as a palace, the building has evolved and changed owners over the centuries until the final owners – the Arrivabene family – took over. Subtly intensifying the atmosphere of a private home is the fact that the clan’s descendants, Count Giberto Arrivabene Valenti Gonzaga and his family, still reside on the top floor. The historic hotel is so captivating that even Hollywood power couple George and Amal Clooney chose the ultra-luxe venue as the site for their September 2014 wedding reception.
Simple elegance and sophistication meet Venetian luxury in this amazing hotel. The Cipriani pays homage to local tradition, serving top cuisine, exclusive, best-of-Venice boutiques manicured gardens and a garden-adjacent heated saltwater pool. This country escape feels a world away from the urban bustle of Venice. The hotel is filled with made-in-Venice furniture items such as Murano glass, Fortuny fixtures and Rubelli fabrics. With sixteen rooms and suites, the Cipriani even offers a private butler.
Hotel Londra Palace is a 17th-century waterfront palace filled with neoclassic beauty. The hotel has fifty-three rooms and suites with unparalleled views of the lagoon and San Giorgio Maggiore island. The Hotel Londra exudes an elegant decor with light-coloured walls, wooden accents, plush chairs and sculpted chandeliers. The rooms have a 19th century aesthetic with tapestry-draped windows, brocade clad walls, antiques and Biedermeier-style furniture. Each room varies slightly to ensure a unique charm, but the bathrooms — ornamented in pink Carrara marble —consistently offer a generous amount of space.
The JW Marriott Venice offers a modern Venetian experience on a private island. Located on Isola Delle Rose, this hotel elevated the meaning of Italian getaway. The JW Marriott Venice is divided into five separate areas, with the rooms and suites located in the main building offering spectacular garden views, some with ocean views and most suites feature a balcony and terrace.
La Residenza is imminent to the lagoon and is ensconced in greenery, with views of the water and the cityscape. L’Uliveto is surrounded by a century-old olive grove, providing an upscale oasis. La Maisonette highlights modern, loft-style accommodations with private terraces and gardens. La Villa boasts a two-bedroom Presidential Suite with a secluded garden and a private pool with views of Venice and the lagoon.
The San Clemente Palace is a secluded sanctuary in Venice located on a private island. The palace-like hotel was formerly used as a monastery, thus imposes greatly historical elegance. The hotel has a garden-adjacent heated swimming pool, top-notch dining with outstanding views of the lagoon, a wonderful spa with signature herbal massages and an understated teme of opulence embedded in the hotel’s interior decor.
