Opening its doors at the beginning of March 2015, the ‘Kameha Grand Zurich’ designed by Marcel Wanders is a hotel that celebrates the rich heritage of Switzerland. Inside unique elements of the local culture warmly welcome international guests. It is a place that could only exist in Zurich, with no other interiors like it.

With its 245 rooms and suites, an event hall accommodating up to 960 people, a large convention centre as well as several business suites the Kameha Grand Zürich caters especially for the needs of business people.

In a charmingly whimsical way Marcel Wanders integrates a Swiss essence in the design of the hotel’s rooms and suites when he allusively highlights Switzerland as the country producing both the best chocolate and the best investors: The partition wall to the bathroom echoes the shape of a chocolate and the handle is reminiscent of a safe.

In his designs Marcel often mixes innovative materials and techniques with references to well known historical styles and archetypes, so users can easily connect to the pieces, enjoying them for a long time and in doing so create sustainable surroundings.
